Want and Want

I see desire, desperation, detachment, not to mention depression. Every face, an identical mask with the same deplorable reach. An attempt to grasp the invisible goal which all strive to capture. Every struggle near identical, every desire similar. The difference is only the vice we use to fill that hole in our soul. A lost love, a broken dream, failed career, self hatred, self doubt; all is the same. We put on our smiles and laugh through whatever travesty that confronts us because what else is there? We all want what we want. We have just failed to see we all want the same. We have failed to view the goals each of us share. We all want love, we all want happiness, we all want security in our finances, we all want peace, we all want to be seen. Will we all achieve this? No, of course not. Life is not a given pleasure, but something to seek pleasure from. To take pleasure whilst not sucking it away from the other. The true king is one who can die alone on their throne with no regret in their heart as the reaper takes them, knowing they have done well.

I have lost my love. Whatever spark burned my heart to achieve has been smothered, made dim and cold. That incredible question all have asked themselves, “what am I doing”, echoes through me as a scream within an empty chamber. I feel I must write something now that I have “observed”. I have observed a nothing, a whole lot of nothing.
